so being colligans intern is not the most exciting thing in the world. since i have started going in there i have been working on calling people in the community about participating in the up comming health fair. i hate talking on the phone but she says i some how have good phone communication and etiquette skills.
today there was a presentation in the college and career lab so i was not able to make any phone calls about the health fair. instead of sitting around, i applied for a job at the mullen center over the summer as a camp counselor. i also started my online application for scf today so that i can be doing online classes over the summer instead of having to go there and take them
today i finally finished the list of all the people i needed to call for the health fair. I called over 100 buisnesses to see if they wanted to be in the health fair or not. Unfortunately i had to leave a lot of messages for people who didnt bother to answer. so i ended up having to go back and recall all those people again.
Today i had to fill out all the papers recording the buisnesses that decided they would like to come and be in the health fair. After i got all that done, i had to fax information to everyone who wantedt to know more about the health fair. I pretty much do the same exact thing every single day. I got a couple call backs saying that buisnesses wanted to come so i was happy about that.
So i finally got everything done in regards to calling all the businesses to see if they would want to be in the health fair. My favorite person to call was healthy start because i have had personal experience with them because i had hunter. I asked colligan if calling healthy start was a joke just because i had a baby. Ironically she hadn't thought of it.
So the health fair was not as good of a sucess as colligan and i had hoped. After calling close to 100 businesses, only about 30 showed up. I was extremely disapointed only seeing less than half showing up. After all the hard work i had done and all the time i put into it it was a disapointment. I was at the fair with everyone else since my advisory teacher let me out, and the only positive thing out of the fair was i got to fill out a paper for healthy start and got a free tea candle!!
so today colligan gave me the task of organizing her supply closet. i never knew someone could have so much useles stuff in one closet. she had stuff in there she didn't even know she had so i took the liberty of throwing some useless stuff away and i also made the closet look amazing cause i got skill =]
colligan got quite a few army posters to hang up so she asked me if i would do them. for some reason she was not in here that day so i was bymyself and trying to hold the poster up, while trying to peel of the masking tape, cut, and place the tape all at the same time. talk about crazyy!!! after getting all the posters hung up, i went to sit down and suddenly all my posters started falling down. needless to say they stayed there =]
colligan started having me type up the internship invitations for the party today. somethign was wrong with her computer so it was not able to print up to the color printer so i had to save them all on my flashdrive so it took me pretty much the whole class to get all of them typed up but not printed up.
today i was able to attempt printing up all the invitations but i had to use the registrars computer because she was not in there today. her cmoputer was extremely slow so i took me longer than the one period to do it so i got out late. i got them all printed out when i realized that eleven of them were off center when i had typed their names. knowing how nit picky colligan is, she'll make me do them over again
so once again i was right. colligan made me do them over again, so i had to reprint them up. after i printed all of those up, i had to trim the edges off the paper because they were white so that took a good twenty minutes because there were three sides i had to cut off. luckily i had mrs. wenning to keep me company. she's such a nice lady, i think she'd be a fun grandma.
today julia had a lot of fun in colligans =] fortunately colligan was in the other room because she was working on scheduling with the underclassman so i had access to the phone!!! mrs. d called in for something and i do believe i talkd to her with an accent which didn't last to long. after that,i called her back and put a piece of paper up to the phone and when she started talking i crumpled the paper to make it sound like static and almost died of laughter. once colligan came back in she called mrs. d and mrs. d told her what happened. colligan didnt think it was the funniest thing in the world
so today i almost peed my pants in colligans. it was me and helen and kj, and colligan was talking on the phone to mrs. d bout the internship invitations i do believe. well i was standing next to the phone so i was behind colligan, when i decided to put her conversation with mrs. d on hold without her knowing it. she ent rambling on for about 2 minutes and started laughing. when she realized that no one was laughing back she looked and saw it was on hold and started yellnig at me. i was laughing so hard i could barely breath it was crazyy!!
