In my opinion, credit cards can be more of a negative influence rather than a positive influence on younger generations. The credit card gives the younger generation a different point of view to spending and sometimes, or should I say; most of the times, it is often depicted as free money. The fact is, it isn't free money, contrary to popular belief. Additionally, the younger generation doesn't withhold the responsibilities adults typically do during their everyday lives. The typical teenager is seen irresponsible, lazy, and not focused. However, a credit card does have some pros, including its flexibility with purchase and payment, as well as a reliable security feature a credit card has when compared to carrying large amounts of cash. Furthermore, the disadvantages of the credit card to the younger generation heavily outweighs its cons. An individual does not need a credit card, nor do they require one. There are many other alternatives and better choices for depositing, withdrawing, using, and saving money.
I think that credit cards are a negetive inflence on youger people. The ability to swipe a card and not think about it until a month later is a great responsibility. I think most young people tend to just forget that intrest is added and that if they don't have the money to buy an item now then they probably won't have the money later. The credit card just adds stress, therefore, it is better handled by older generations. That's why credit card companies focus on the younger generation (they know that we are more gullable and less educated about credit).
Credit cards, in my opinion, impose a negative influence on the younger generation. The negative aspects of credit cards is the damage you can cause to your future credit score. Young adults don't realize how messing around with a credit card in an irresponsible way can affect you in numerous ways when your older. Having good credit can help you to obtain a nice house, job, car, etc. House owners don't want people to live in there house if the person does not have good credit. This shows that the person does not have good enough responsibility. When companies give away things in exchange for a credit card, such as a free t-shirt, young adults feel obligated to take part in this which can cause damage due to over spending.
I think credit cards are a positive influence. I think this is a positive influence because it teaches teenagers at a younger age how to be resonsible with their money, so when they become older they can save up money, learn to pay bills on time, and buy thiing they only can afford. There will be some teens who will abuse it, then hopefully learn from their mistakes and not do it agian, while if an adult did it, it might be harder ot too late to turn bad credit into good credit. It is better to learn to manage money at a younger age.
Credit cards are very appealing to the younger generation. It's money but not at the same time. Having it so handy can have a negative influence. It's hard to discipline ourselves to be able to say no to something that we really want when we know we can just hand it over to the cashier and go cha-ching! But for those who are responsible and know how to spend on what they need, it can have a positive influence. By spending cash I think it helps people to realize how much they are spending because you actually see it disappear.
I believe that credits are a negative influence on younger generation because it teaches no responsibility and it lets them go out and buy whatever they want with out thinking about the consequences in the end they are going to face with the bad scoring on there credit. I think that parents should wait till they know there child is ready for one if they really need to give them one but other than that people should not really have one because it really could get them into a lot of trouble. I indeed have one but I have never used it and hope to never use it. I think that it’s a stupid investment that people get, and the only reason I have one is because my parents want me to have it just in case I need to buy something important.
In my opinion, credit cards can be both a positive and a negative influence on the younger generation. It is positive because it gets us prepared for when we want to go into the real world and buy our first homes. We will have credit built up to achieve that. Then again, it can hurt you. When younger people have credit cards, not all understand at some point you have to pay back the money and in the end it can hurt them for a lifetime.
I think credit cards can be negative because it set young generation to think that they don't have to save money in order to make a purchase. In this fast-paced world, the credit card is also fast-purchase. That attitude or lack of thinking before buying can get the people into debt. At the end, they can lose it all - just like many today. Credit cards have contributed to our collapse in the economy.
Credit cards seem to make the younger generation think that they have an unlimited access to unlimited funds. This is, unfortunately, very untrue. Credit cards place these people in huge financial dept that can last for years and years to come and can also hinder their ability to buy a house, car or even obtain a job. Credit cards are also necessary to have good credit and a healthy bank account. Therefore, credit cards are a necessary evil. They should be used as sparingly as possible and paid off quarterly.
Credit cards teach members of younger generations the value of someone else's dollar. Essentially, they learn to pay someone back; to own up to borrowing money from people. Reliability. Which is a good trait to have.
Back when I was a young lad, before the war, credit cards weren't as hot as they are now. People these days think they can do anything with a credit card, and that simply isn't true. You can't just buy anything you want with it, and you are still liable for the money you are borrowing.
I think credit cards are a negative influence on younger generations because it presents a false value of money. Actually that credit card debt contributed to the recession in our economy today. Most teens will run right out, and charge up the credit card to the limit. (That’s a generalization, I’m sure some teens would be responsible with a credit card.) It really depends on the kind of debt instruction they have had previously, so before giving out a credit to a teenager, make sure they learn how to save money first and know that credit cards are only for EMERGENCY not to shop around.
I think that credit cards are a negative influence because they convince some teenagers that they can spend whatever amount of money they want without having the money.
I think credit cards can be good and bad. They are good because you need to be responsible to be able to handle it. But it can be bad because it is encouraging you to spend money. It takes a lot of research so you know what you are getting into. I dont think you should have a credit card before you are 18 so you dont get yourself in trouble
Credit cards are most definitely not a positive influence on younger generations. They use enticing reward perks to get youngsters to sign up for credit cards that end up having insame interest rates.Credit cards are ok if they are used correctly but the majority if individuals do not excersis the self control needed to not become severly in debt. Overall credit cards are good for building credit and for emergencies but not for lesuire spending.
Credit cards have a very negative influence on younger adults. To many young adults credit cards are seen as the must have item of the season, something they can't live without. They abuse the credit card using it for high dollar items that they cannot afford and for little things such as a pack of gum that they could easily pay off without getting charged more for it at the end of the month. Young adults need to learn the dangers of owning a credit card before getting one.
In my opinion I think that credit cards are a negative influence in younger generation. They are a easy way to get quick money. Most teen do not realize that at some point you do have to pay it back , plus interest. Also, most teens do not have the self control to have one. I am even at fault for this , you go to the store and see a purse , shoes , or whatever you like and say well I can use my credit card and just pay it off later. In all actually you have to very responsible and have self control when it comes to a credit card , which most teens do not have.
I think credit cards are bad influence on young generatios because I don't think younger people have the self control to know when it's an emergency and they should use it or when they just shouldn't buy it. Also I think the credit card companys target younger people because they aren't as informed and know what they are getting them selfs into. I think people should wait until they are a little older and more infomred, to get one.
I think that credit cards can be more of a negative influence towards the younger generations. People tend to keep buying things on their credit cards not caring that they will eventually have to pay it back. With doing this it just causes more problems such as ruining your credit. Having bad credit lowers your chances of obtaining a house, vehicle and jobs. They will think you are too big of a reliable issue. When you’re younger you tend to be irresponsible and don’t take things into consideration due to the lack of experience. Credit cards may have a lot of advantages but it’s a matter of using it responsibly.
I think credit cards are a negative influence on younger generations. When people try to push younger people into the "free money" card, it just is there to make life a lot harder. Some people tend to just go overboard on all of it and go into debt when it's a horrible choice. Sure it's a good idea if you have the money to pay off whatever you buy that month but personally, I only see myself having a credit card for emergency purposes only IF i don't have the money at the time. Young people get targeted cause they have no former experience of credit cards or borrowing money and getting put into debt in the real world and making their credit score low at the start. The credit card companies just don't care. They are making money either way.
i think that credit cards are a negative influence on the younger generation. it encourages teenagers to try and build up credit and eventually leads them into debt and having a hard time trying to pay everything off. a debit card is one thing, but to me a credit card is the wrong route to go.
