I don’t not believe that sororities are a essential part of college but I do think that it will help your transition into college a bit easier. Then you can make more friends you could find people that have common interests as you and become close to them. Because a lot of students go to different colleges as there friends and then when going into a new college they have no one to turn too, being in a sorority will help you make friends and build close bonds with of girls. Yes they are indeed costly and a tradition but I think even though you might have to do stupid things, that if you would like to make friends and have people close to you then you could consider joining one.
I think they're just a costly tradition. Some people have told me that they know people who joined in college and it consumed their college life. The sorority a friend joined made it to where you can't hangout with any outside your "sisters." Personally, I would never join one just because they are indeed costly, but also because I don't feel the need to have one group consume my daily life.
I believe fraternities and/or sororities are just a costly tradition. In order to be in college, you don't need to go through fraternities or sororities. They are just a tradition in most schools and they probably would want to keep them for these traditions, especially the people that had already went through it. It 's a way to be a "ledgend" in the school. I would never want to join one, because i would rather keep the friends I already have, then have a group that may not be real friends.
Sororities and fraternities are only tradition. They do supply a “home life” but they can be more destructive than productive, causing students to concentrate on social events rather than scholarly pursuits. Personally, I think that these circles of friends are more trouble than they are worth.
Fraternities and/or sororities are not an essential part of college. They are just a costly tradition. It is not something that is necessary. It's more of a social club. When your'e in college you're occupied with your studies and having fraternities and/or sororities lets students have a social life on campus. It may enhance your experience at colleger but it may also distract you from putting your priorities first and focusing on your studies.
I beleive fraternties and sororities are not essential part of college. It is something people do to socialize. College students have many subjects to study instead of worrying about being accepted by the popular group that can make you fail classes. For a college student sororities can decrease your concentration on education and they are not even real friends.
Between you and me, I don't think that college fraternities are an essential part of college. Sure you have crazy times and you can get buck-wild at parties, but is it really worth it? You should be focusing more on the work you are paying to do, and not on what some random nobodies think of you.
Unless you want to be a cocky and arrogant college jerk. Who believes that they are an elite member of some great social group that know one has ever heard of, nor cares about.
If you go to college, then go to college. If you want to be crazy with idiots, then keep failing high school.
I believe that sororities/fraternities are not important for college. It’s excluding people from joining and those who join are humiliated. This is just developing a secret society and in fact, we need more openness and transparency. It’s important to be popular but it’s important to be popular an merit and not because you belong to a sorority.
Fraternities are not essential for college and are basically a waste of time and money. They are only fun and are not beneficial in any way unless you can't make friends on your own.
I think if you want to be in a sorority or a fraternity then go for it. It is not an essential part of college because not all colleges have them. It is costly, but its a choice you have to make. I personally would not want to be in one because everyone knows your business and you have to watch what you say and do. Although I would not participated in the tradition, it always has been a part of college life and I don't think there is anything wrong with it.
Are fraternities and/or sororities an essential part of college? Or, are they just a costly tradition?
Fraternities and/or sororities are not an essential part of college, but rather just a costly tradition. A fraternity/sorority is not needed to succeed in college. Although it is a great way to make new friends and connections in college, it's almost as if you're paying a person that has connections and experience of the college facility and information. They also have a strong support system and help build your social skills. Furthermore, they're just a choice, an option you have if you need it. It lays off the intimidation from first going to college. Expensive!!
Sororities and Fraternities may provide an easment into college life but can also provide and exit for personal life. Sororities and Fraternities seem like they are a lot of drama that can distract a new college student from their studies. Depending on the circumstances a sorority maybe waht an individual needs but in most cases they are just a costly tradition.
Fraternities/Sororities are just a waste of money and time. They are not essential at all for college, given that these clubs are for "exclusive" people anyways. Yes, there may be benefits that come with going into a fraternity such as instant friends (IF you get along with them), and other things such as volunteer opportunities. But why would anyone would go into a costly club that has a bad reputation anyways. Once again it is a waste of time and money.
I believe that they can be beneficial if used correctly. They help incoming freshmen make the transition from high school. Also, I believe that they help create lifelong bonds. However, when sororities and fraternities turn students into party animals is when it becomes a problem. Sometimes they can become a distraction, and that’s where the line is drawn between a costly tradition and a fun part of college.
I think that sororities and fraternities are costly traditions, not an essential part of college. Generally speaking, college students tend to get into the "party life" which is fun but can become disastrous in the long run. Putting partying over school is not a good thing at all and will effect you negativley in the long run. Although there are good aspects of joining a frat or sorority house, the cost is an abundant amount of money which could be spent on better things like education.
I believe that Fraternities/Sororities are costly traditions and not essential in the college experence. This is because most of the time Fraternities/Sororities are used to just mess around and have very little educational value.
To me Fraternities and Sororities are overrated I feel like they get you into more trouble then they are worth and sometimes you loose the sight of what is important. Also I think people join them for the wrong reasons and then they party to much and get behind on there school work.
Fraternities and Sororities are not an essential part of your college life style, but merely a costly tradition. Though it is no doubt a good way to meet friends and connect but it almost seems like it’s just them and nobody else. Being in one may be fun and exciting but that’s not the main reason why you went to college. All it’s adding is a distraction to your main purpose being there.
Fraternities and Sororities in my opinon are not an essential part of you college exsperiance. I think that if it is something you are into then go for it , but its nothing nececary. All of my family that has gone to college have all been in Fraternities and Sororities , and from what i have gathered from listening to the storys it honestly is just a costly tradition.
Fraternities/Sororities are definitely not a essential part of college. They are there for your fun/possible motivation in college or just something to look forward to in your years in college. They are basically there to push you into a social group and give unnecessary expenses. You're not in college to be "cool", you're there to make something of your life and find your wanted career.
i personally think that sororiies are just a costly tradition that collges like to keep going. They are a great way to get students involved with the school and to interact with one another. Frats and sororites bring in a lot of money to college campuses too so why bother stoping them if they bring in a profit
